Solomon's Seal Sawfly
Phymatocera aterrima

The black adult sawflies begin investigating Solomon's Seal plants in late May or early June, soon to be replaced by an army of pale voracious larvae and then some skeletal plants.

The pictures below show what to expect, and the map is the current map from the NBN Atlas.

We have few Highland records, so please check any plants you have and report them to us.
